Follow the food

The food is here, so we've got a flock of grackles foraging in the garden. West End Avenue food supply.
Over on the other lawn a cluster of juncos are gorging.
The owls are here because there's food and a place to rest.  Safety for the birds first.  Quiet is necessary.
Oh..... something's going to happen.  There's going to be a pellet ejected. That's going to be a photo challenge, one almond-sized pellet in a fraction of a second.
My eyes saw the pellet, but the camera didn't catch it.
On the ground birders searched for the pellet.  That's like trying to find a needle in a haystack, total dense leaf/ twig  cover on the ground. Can't you just imagine what the owl is thinking? "What are those goofballs doing? Are they nuts?!"
Someday a pellet will be found, but not this day.
