Chomping down

Lots of moths to get caught for lunch. It takes about three seconds for a moth to be ripped apart and eaten.
At first I couldn't tell what this sparrow had captured, because it was running around in the brush. Finally, out in the open. Oh my God, a cicada! That's the sparrow equivalent of catching a monster lobster for lunch.

This was a formidable meal which needed to be cracked open in order to eat.

Sparrow whopped cicada around until it broke into parts.

Obviously every bit of the cicada is delicious. Not one bit is going to go to waste.

Delicious! It took four minutes to smash and completely eat the cicada. Terrific show.
