Ripe

A stroll can start out so quietly. I've never before seen a smudged hermit thrush. Now I'll have to study each hermit. Smudged from digging in soil? Smudge actually under feathers? I don't know yet.

Then came the fun. Hail, hail, the gangs all here! Ripe berries. Gorging time. A flock of cedar waxwings arrived. I've been waiting for this delightful bird.
Even the fox sparrow showed up for some chow.

Bigger surprise, the yellow belly sapsucker.

Pluck the fruit and dine elsewhere.

More soon.
