The surviving hawk baby is doing beautifully. There are so many perils in life when it comes to nature that we can't dwell on what's happened to the other babies. We can rejoice and be thankful that we have this baby in our neighborhood. Yesterday's rest time was spent in an abandoned nest. At least I hope it was abandoned. Then it was on to the usual antics... exploration on the ground, wood chips collecting, a perch on the roof of the playground maintenance building, off to the tree tops, one soar (high) over the highway and back into the high trees at Tom Rock. It's all nervewracking and awesome.
