Learning

This fledgling managed to get himself under the mulberry tree. First he went over to a pigeon thinking the pigeon would supply food. The pigeon flashed him off. Then the fledgling looked to me. I made it clear that I was not the catering service. And then seemingly by accident he found food on the ground, the same thing the pigeons were pecking at. Ripe mulberries. Normally the parent would ram a berry down its gullet. Now the fledgling was doing it on its own. I wish the berries didn't have stems, because those stems can cause the baby to have a problem, fodder for pellets.

This kid is going to have a tummy ache, but finding his own food is very important. He can't tug worms yet.
