Red and green

There is a cardinal family in the garden, much more elusive than the robins. For several days the father has been food hunting high inthe trees.

I saw him come zooming down to the ground for a leaf. Oh, wow! Not a leaf. Another huge bug.

I would love to see one of these bugs alive.

Last evening was noticeably more quiet in the garden. No sign of the ivy baby robin. No sign of the fledglings from last week. Maybe this was due to the cooler weather. Only one robin parent collecting worms for a new group of nestlings and the one-foot papa getting food for one fledglings.
