Slightly slower Thursday

It's fine starting the day with a cooperative black-and-white warbler. It was a cooler day, so I didn't expect to see as much as had been seen on Tuesday. It was still a grand birding day.

My pal pointed out this handsome surprise, a white-crowned sparrow... dining in muck de jour.

The buzz went out....... "did you see it? Wilson's!" Just try and see it. A Wilson's warbler is a gorgeous bird. I walked and searched, never saw it, gave up. When I gave up that's when I saw it.

Easy to find, because of its song, the northern parula.

Bath time for the yellow warbler.

What a sweet gem!
